Breakfast smoothie
Perfect for filling up on the move, and seriously wholesome…

1 banana
Half tbsp spoon muesli
1 tsp honey
1 tsp flax seed
Dollop of yoghurt (optional)
Add milk (try the coconut variety for added flavour) and blend until milkshake consistency

Cucumber, apple, kale, celery and ginger
Combining nutrient-rich greens with cleansing ginger, and the sweetness of apples, this one is virtuous to the extreme – and incredibly refreshing.

2 apples
1 cucumber
1 stick celery
6 leaves kale
1 one-inch knob fresh ginger
To get the right consistency you really need a juicer for this one. Otherwise you can use a blender, set to high-speed

Banana, almond and chocolate
Tasting much like a pudding in a glass, it’s hard to believe this one is so healthy.

1 medium ripe banana
1 tbsp cocoa powder
14g roasted almonds
1 tsp agave syrup
10 ice cubes
Almond milk
All blended together to the consistency of double cream

Pineapple, strawberry and banana
Sweet and brightly-hued, this one is sure to please kids and grow-ups alike. The taste of summer (in January).

1 pineapple, chopped into chunks
1 banana
1 cup strawberries
1.5 cups ice
Pop all ingredients in a blender, for just under a minute

Apple cider vinegar, lemon, cayenne pepper and cinnamon
Apple cider vinegar is great for cleansing and detoxification. Best taken before food first thing in the morning, this surprisingly agreeable concoction is the perfect New Year pick-me-up.

2 tbsp good quality apple cider vinegar
1 big squeeze of lemon
1 tsp agave syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch cayenne pepper
Stir the ingredients in a glass of water, drink, and feel the health running through you
