Rafael Gómezbarros, Casa Tomada, 2013
‘Pangaea: New Art from Africa and Latin America’ shows at the Saatchi Gallery until 2 November. This exhibition has, in typical Saatchi style, an eclectic mix of artists ranging from internationally well-known creatives, to brand new rising talent. It really packs a punch, with a startling collection of installations, photography, and painting from Africa and Latin America. Plenty for small people to be engaged by, too – not least the 440 fibreglass ants, created by artist Rafael Gomezbarros, that seem to crawl across an expanse of wall. Each ant is 90cm long, and made from two human skulls – which you may or may not want to point out.
