Now that the season has unmistakably turned, it could be time to appreciate nature (and the fact that it’s free). Let us point you in the direction of The Woodland Trust, and their nifty list of great woods around the UK to visit this Autumn. Among the extensive suggestions, you’ll find restored ancient woodland in Hackfall, North Yorkshire (pictured), Blackbush Shaw forest in Greater London (near Charles Darwin’s home and where he studied natural selection), and Beacon Hill Wood in Somerset, with its signs of Neolithic times. Welly boots on, a blast of fresh air, some leaf-collecting, and then back home and you can justify screen time…
